Using Bibliometrics and Altmetrics to Communicate Research Impact In-Person

Scholars and researchers are increasingly are asked to explain the impact of their research, whether for promotion and tenure files, or grant applications and reports, even for visa applications. In this workshop, you will learn about the tools for gathering citation-based and alternative metrics, their advantages and caveats, how to incorporate them into the story you want to tell about your research impact, and some ways you can increase your visibility as a scholar. We will cover impact metrics for a variety of research and scholarly works, from journal articles and books to datasets. This workshop is open to all UC San Diego faculty, staff, and students.

If the date & time for the workshop does not fit your schedule, contact us to schedule a special session for you or your department.
